User Uploads & Future of GEXO

It's been a month since our last post on this blog. Not because we were lazy to write something, but because we didn't know what to tell you.
Many things are happening in the online porn world. Most importantly, there is a giant lawsuit going on between a big porn producer and a site like GEXO. If this lawsuit is lost, you will see all of our competitors go down like flies.
User Uploaded Videos have been disabled on GEXO for this reason, as we don't want to contribute to theft of copyrights.
What we really want is your home-made content . Some of you already uploaded some great home-made movies, but most of you keep uploading movies you have downloaded somewhere else. Until we figure out a way to filter out home-made videos from stolen videos (which sounds impossible at this moment) , the user uploads have been disabled completely.
Meanwhile we do all we can, to provide you with legal porn on gexo. We try to keep GEXO fresh with at least 100 new short but LEGAL clips every day. We are also uploading our DVDs, which have own copyrights to. Our DVD collection should be available at the begining of February.
Every day, we recieve hundereds of these emails:
"You guys used to have the best site, but now that you took down all the user uploaded stuff, it just sucks. I guess I'll be moving on."
And our reply is: Yes, we know! But we can't do anything about this at the moment. So please spare us of similar emails, and move on quietly, if you have to. We can't do anything about it!
We believe what gexo offers now is still of a pretty good value. Yes, it's not 30 minute long illegal clips anymore, but it's legal, fresh, and has a great variety of fetishes.
Besides working on getting you fresh legal content every day, we are working on user-made TAGing, so you can organize your favorites and create your own playlists.
Will the user uploads be back?
sooner or later yes....we have to wait for the outcome of the lawsuit. Meanwhile we will provide you with our licenced DVDs starting in February. And we will try to come up with a way to allow home-made movies to appear on GEXO.

Problems with flash continued

We've recieved a very interesting email today, here is a copy:
"Hello,
A quick update for you about my earlier problem. I've deleted flash player from my machine, shut down and restart and downloaded flash again from the adobe site. Problem fixed, could this help others?"

New things coming soon

We are working on private messaging , a forum and a chatroom . So you guys and gals can socialize a bit more :)
We are also working on favorite organizer and playlists..but I presonally believe the private messaging will come first.

Where have all my favorites go?

Your Favorites gone?
We want GEXO to stay here for a LONG time, and therefore we must keep GEXO clean of all copyright breaches.
We've been contacted by several companies asking us to kindly remove their materials, so we had to. These have been removed from your favorites too.
Not to worry though, we've licenced 1000 DVDs and we will keep uploading here for your viewing pleasure. All movies uploaded by user GexoCinema are our own licenced movies, those will never dissapear.
For the rest of them - when you are uploading a movie that has a WWW.something.com embedded on it, and the www.something.com doesn't belong to you, then this movie is most likely not yours. If you want to use GEXO for private storage, you may still upload such a video, but you must choose "Private Storage" from privacy settings at UPLOAD time.
Bare with us guys and gals, we are adding more cool features to GEXO, and more movies are being uploaded.
P.S: WE WANT YOUR HOME MADE MOVIES!

Private Storage

Today, we've added a new feature called "Private Storage".
This will ensure 100% privacy when desired. When your uploaded movie's privacy settings are set to "Private Storage" only you can view the video - only when you are logged in.
This serves two things:
a) Now you can use GEXO to upload your porn collection to our servers , so that you can watch your porn on-the-go , without sharing it with the world.
b) Because we are being contacted almost daily from the rightful copyright owners, we are forced to take down the reported videos. Lately, a lot of users were uploading videos they've gotten from paysites. We've decided, that deleting these would not be nice, because maybe some of you are already using GEXO for online storage. We will instead move these videos to your Private Storages so that public cannot view them, and you will not be breaking copyright laws.
This will have a huge impact on GEXO, because a LOT of movies will suddenly dissapear from our site. We ask you to please upload amateur non-copyrighted movies, as this was the original idea of GEXO in the frist place.

More Servers, More Speed

Everyone is doing great, thank you all for refering friends, our servers are maxing out, we are adding more server power tonight and tommorow.
P.S: If you are still having any problems loading our flash player, check if you have Norton Antivirus turned on, and try turning it off for our site, it's causing your problems, and it's gonna take us a while to figure out why exactely.

Another Crazy Morning

Lots of emails about not being able to watch videos! Again, we continue making changes in hopes it will help.
If you have Norton Antivirus installed, it may be blocking our page (for no appearant reason, we certainly don't like viruses as much as you do) - if this is the case, try disabeling your Norton for our page and PLEASE TELL US IF IT HELPED! We will need to adjust our code not to do this!
If not - go read topic below , and please email us,...it's been 4 crazy days, and we still don't know what's causing it! Only with your help we can fix it.

Videos don't load?

Ok, so the title is a bit off, but it's the only way to grab your attention.
We've spent 2 days trying to figure out why some people can't load videos , when indeed they had no problems with the old GEXO version.
Problem is: Browsers are HORRIBLE at caching javascripts! Once they are cached they don't want to load new versions!
Solution: the old GEXO software is cached in your browser, and doesn't co-operate with the new design. You have to force REFRESH of the page (the one that should load video but it's not).
Here is step by step tutorial on how to do that:
--------------------------------------------------
1. Close all browser windows that you might have opened.
2. Start your browser again and go to GEXO and click on a thumbnail to get to video page.
3. To force refresh, you hit CTRL+R, or hold CTRL and click on the refresh icon in your browser.
This should force your browser to load new javascript software into cache.
4. If it still doesnt' help, try rebooting your computer and repeat steps 1-3
5. if it still doesn't help, go to youtube.com . If you can see videos there but not on GEXO, please contact us!!

Let us know if you were able to watch videos fine in the old GEXO version, or if this your first time to our site.
Also, on the same page that produces the error, does anything else work? When you click on Login, do you see a little gray bar animate its way down? When you click orange arrows to move "related videos" left and right, do they work?
These are all very important pieces of information, because they tell us wheter your browser could not load any of our javascript, or just some. Please take the time to examine that, it only takes 20 seconds.
Hopefully that will clear all bugs.

Happy Turkey Day!

For those of you who are celebrating Thanksgiving, we wish you happy turkey day, and we really don't understand what are you doing here when you should be stuffing yourself with food and drinking beer all day long! Go away! Go eat that turkey and come back tommorow! =)
The rest of you should know, that we are working around the clock to kill the bugs that crawled in when launching new version of this site. There are plenty, and we are super doped on coffee and are working all we can to exterminate all of them.
So far it seems that some users don't get the flash player loaded, we got some emails , but noone was kind enough to provide further information. If you are reading this, please be so kind and email us and answer our questions when we ask them, because without those answers we can't help you!
We also recieved a great amount of ideas, most frequently you are requesting a way to organize your favorites. We have started working on this, and hopefully it should go live within a week from today.
Well, that should be all for now, thanks for being with us! And post MORE COMMENTS please! We read them all and they make us happy!
